Almost every conversation I have with business owners starts the same way… “We’re making awesome products. I just need more people to know who we are and what we’re doing.”
Have you said something similar?
If that feels like a challenge you have, here’s a simple, real-world recipe that works for raising awareness and getting more leads using LinkedIn. I just walked through this exact plan with a client last week, and it’s too good not to share.
You can use it right now to start building awareness and turning those connections into conversations, and those conversations into hot leads. Let’s jump in.
Step 1: Be present (and post something real).
Before anything else, make sure people can see you. That means posting on both your company LinkedIn page and your personal profile at least a couple of times a month. It doesn’t have to be super in-depth. Helpful, interesting, or behind-the-scenes posts always do well. Make it fun! As long as you do it regularly.
One of my clients shared a quick photo of someone soldering in their lab, and it got tons of engagement. Why? Because people love seeing the real work behind the scenes. If you’re traveling, working on a cool project, or making a helpful announcement, share that.
Think of this as the “open sign” for your business. You’ve got your website, sure, but in the tech industry, having a visible LinkedIn presence is just as important.
Step 2: Connect with the people you already know.
Start with your existing network—especially the people you’ve met recently at trade shows or events.
Have you connected with everyone who visited your booth on LinkedIn? You can do it manually or use a tool to speed things up, but either way, take the time to connect.
When you’re planning your next show, you can easily reach out with a message like, “Hey, will you be at NAB this year?” That kind of simple touchpoint builds relationships—and often leads to real opportunities.
Step 3: Find the people you want to know.
Once you’ve reconnected with your warm leads, start expanding your circle. Tools like LinkedIn Sales Navigator let you search by job title, company type, or location so you can find your ideal customers.
Connect with those people, offer something useful like a guide or a recording of a webinar, and start a conversation. The magic happens when you’re consistently connecting and showing up in their feed with helpful posts.
And here’s the part I love: automation tools like our LinkedIn Mindshare can actually help you have more human conversations. They take care of the busywork so you can spend your time doing what matters—talking with people, sharing ideas, and helping clients solve problems.
That’s it: a simple three-step plan for getting more leads and more awareness using LinkedIn.If you want to see how this could work for your company – or just want to talk through your next steps – let’s chat. I’m happy to walk you through what would work best for you.
